Exodus 10:21-29: PLAGUE POP OF DARKNESS

This series makes up a sermon written and presented by Sarah-Grace Ramsay when she 12 years of age.

This leads us to the Plague Pop of Darkness. Reading from Exodus: 10:21-23, 27-29:

²¹Then the Lord said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand toward the sky so that darknessspreads over Egypt—darkness that can be felt.” ²²So Moses stretched out his hand toward the sky, and total darkness covered all Egypt for three days. ²³No one could see anyone else or move about for three days. Yet all the Israelites had light in the places where they lived.

²⁷But the Lord hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he was not willing to let them go. ²⁸Pharaoh said to Moses, “Get out of my sight! Make sure you do not appear before me again! The day you see my face you will die.”

²⁹“Just as you say,” Moses replied. “I will never appear before you again.”

There is something I find amusing about this plague… The Bible says that it was so dark that no one could see anything or move about for 3 days because it was so dark, yet Pharaoh still says to Moses, "Get out of my sight! Make sure you do not appear before me again!" You see, even in tough times, no matter how hard things get God will give us something to smile about. Salvation only comes from God.

Resurrection and Frankenstein's Creation (2 Corinthians 5:17 and Revelation 21 3b-4)

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! We went to see Frankenstein the Ballet last night. If anyone knows that story. The beginning is like the book. Dr. Frankenstein makes a creation out of the parts of corpses who had had terrible things happen in their lives - and then he brings life to the new creation and it becomes whole - with a whole new lease on life. A new chance to live. No matter all the awful stuff that had happened before. Now - the book actually ends poorly after that but the ballet does not. The ballet includes a story of Giselle. Low Saturday (Genesis 3, Revelation 21)

This weekend is Easter. That is the most important time on the Christian Calendar. Christians acknowledge Jesus as God. Our teachings tell us that God, as creator, created the whole world. And when He did it was perfect.
