Proverbs 31:8: Speak up!

Proverbs 31:8-9: "Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy."

Canada has the greatest provision for the needy in the Americas and is among the best in the entire world - however, we still have a long way to go...

Persons in low income after tax, by prevalence in percent (StatsCan):

40.9% of Canadians in female lone-parent families are considered low-income

29.4% of all single Canadians (28.4% M, 30.5% F) are considered low-income

If you remove seniors from the equation, the number of low-income single males shoots up to 30.7% and the percent of low-income females reaches 37.5%

11.5% of all Canadians are considered low-income

Let us speak up for those in need in our community.
