At the eschaton, each of us will be before the Lord. I imagine it will be the same feeling as when you are driving along, look in the rear-view mirror, see the red and blue flashing lights come on behind you; you look down at your speedometer; you pull over to the side of the road, roll down your window and wait for the inevitable, “Driver’s licence and registration please. Do you know how fast you were going?” I imagine it will be that same feeling in the pit of your stomach. You are guilty and there is nothing you can do; you are entirely at the mercy of the nice man or the nice woman at the window.
This is the blessing of the Lord. Though we are all guilty, every knee must bow, He may not hand you the ticket. He actually gives you the choice as to what you want to do. Would you like to pay the ticket and continue on your way to an inevitable collision with destiny or would you like to admit your are wrong, accept forgiveness, and continue on your way along the highway to paradise (at the appropriate speed of course).
